This years photographs will have a more personal and focus on our plot. To view site photos visit and of the 2008 diary pages. There are photographs of the whole site from January through to December.

The above photos were taken on 22 June 2009. This month has definitely been the month of the strawberry. We have picked punnet loads at each visit to the plot. We have eaten and drunk strawberries almost every day. The plot is just about planted up to the seams now and harvesting has also begun in earnest. As well as an abundance of strawberries we have harvested lots of redcurrants - much to the blackbirds disgust! Hoping for a good July.

fence home

Click here to read about our campaign to acquire a new secure fence.

Green Lane Allotments site is a council run site with approximately 60 plots. Some plot holders keep chickens and pigeons whilst others use their plots to grow vegetables, flowers, fruit and herbs etc.

We don't ask for much in the way of resources and are fortunate in that we do have a good water supply, however the fence surrounding our site is a dilapidated wooden structure that is only half standing and we desperately need it replacing. We feel that a secure fence and gates are the basic amenities that every allotment plot should enjoy, but unfortunately the council has no funding to enable the fence to be replaced or repaired.

So why are allotments important

We want photos of your plots and gardens

We have visitors from all over the world as you can see from our map below. It would be really great to know something about visitors to our site.
