Gardening Tools
All gardeners need a range of garden tools for the many jobs that they carry out in their garden or on the plot. Choosing the correct tool for the job can make life so much easier. Good quality tools are a worthwhile investment.
The tool that you choose is often a matter of preference but we all need a good spade and a good fork. Don’t be misled be the term Ladies Fork. Generally speaking the description ladies is given to a tool that is of smaller size. These tools are equally suitable for men and women and are often much more comfortable and less straining to use (especially on heavy soil) than their larger relative. Most gardeners will also need some type of hoe for cultivating the soil and weeding.
Most gardeners would recognise the need for a hand trowel but there are also a bewildering range of other hand tools specifically designed for the many garden tasks. Be selective when choosing such tools. Do you really need a tool just for weeding out daisies or have you already another tool which will be adequate for that job? It’s a bit like buying kitchen utensils. There are countless types of spoons available but do we really need a spoon just for jam?

Whatever tools you choose it is important to look after them well. Store them in a dry place and clean them after use. Most will give you a lifetime of service.
