Raised Beds
There may be a variety of reasons why you may opt to create raised beds on your plot or in your garden. It may be that you wish to create an environment and a soil type for a particular type of plant or plants. Maybe you have difficulty in bending and therefore want to bring your plants up to a higher level. Or you may want to avoid digging as much as is possible. Some will argue that yield is better when vegetables or flowers are grown in raised beds or that more plants can be grown than in the equivalent area of open ground. If your soil tends to become waterlogged then raised beds can improve drainage. Maybe you just choose to use raised beds to add a variety of level to your garden to add interest to your design. Whatever your reasons you may wish to consider the selection of options below.
